Columbia Development is a full-service real estate development company with combined property value in excess of $1.5 billion. When Columbia Development recognized the need for a new 12 story office building in Albany, a partnership with Kasselman Electric and BBL Construction was the most logical option. Kasselman Electric and BBL Construction relied on their design/build expertise to create one of the most iconic buildings in Albany’s skyline.

Today, the 180,000 square foot building is a mixed-use, energy efficient complex featuring state-of-the-art office space and a 900-car parking garage. The building is located in the heart of downtown Albany’s business and financial district and is close to the New York State Capitol building, The Palace Theatre, and the Empire State Plaza. The building is conveniently situated close to major highways and the Amtrak train station.

Kasselman Electric constructed a redundant fiber service, redundant electric distribution system, high efficiency lighting with occupancy controls, a Building Management System (BMS) to monitor all Building and Tenant HVAC equipment, an Uninterrupted Power Source System, and an emergency generator. Kasselman Electric’s electrical efficiency measures resulted in a building which exceeds New York State energy code by 20%.
